GTA Online Is Down: Server Status Offline Rockstar Confirm (23 September)

UPDATE: GTA Online servers appear to have been restored and PlayStation, Xbox and PC should now be back up and working.

[Original Story] - It's Thursday, September 23, which normally would mean it's time for the new GTA Online Weekly Update.

Only, GTA Online servers appear to be down this morning.

Since 9am reports of the GTA Online servers not working have been increasing and on independent outage monitor, DownDetector, we've also seen a sharp spike in reports.

Currently you cannot log into #GTAOnline on any platform (PlayStation, Xbox or PC). It crashes during the loading process creating an endless loading screen glitch.

Rockstar Games support has yet to issue a message about the problems, but there is some information to be found from the games official website.

A look at the game developer's support website - https://support.rockstargames.com/servicestatus - shows that the service status for both Grand Theft Auto Online (but not Red Dead Online) have changed from "limited" to "down".

Some players have reported that you can log into GTA Online by going into Story mode, selecting Creator then launching GTA Online (as shown in the below tweet).

This works for Xbox and PlayStation users, but not on PC.
