While GTA Online is already home to a smorgasbord of aerial transport options, from helicopters to jets and even a blimp, it seems some players still aren’t satisfied with the current selection.
Perhaps it’s the age-old adage that bigger is better or simply more nostalgia for old-school features that remind them of good times in single-player, but whatever you want to blame it on, GTA players have their eyes set on getting a cargo plane.
This is the subject of a recent discussion on Reddit, which saw players of all stripes lay out their desires for the ultimate flying fortress.
Which Ingredients Would Make up the Best GTA Online Aerial Base?
Posting in the GTA Online subreddit, user ThinSmokeForever began the thread by sharing an image of the cargo plane featured in the ‘Minor Turbulence' mission from GTA 5’s single-player, asking: “who wants that in the next DLC?”
As it turns out, a fair few other users is the answer, with Maukki222 saying: “(it) would be cool if we could have an airborne cargo plane as a base, it could fly in a circle around the map and it could have defensive and stealth capabilities like the Kosatka”.
Sadly, not all players shared this optimistic outlook, with user bn9012 declaring: “I'll give it five mins in the air until someone shoots that out of the air” and RAE450 adding: “Blown up after one rocket from the (Oppressor) mk2”.
However, user Ange1ofD4rkness replied to the first of these comments with a more positive viewpoint, saying: “Depends on the session. Flown my (Volatol) sometimes for a long time, only dying because I crashed it trying to pull off a stupid stunt”.
Meanwhile, some users stressed that they’d only be interested in getting a cargo plane if it could do things existing in-game planes struggle with more easily, such as transporting cars.
A few others decided to post other aerial desires they have for the game, with user _Abe_Froman_SKOC saying they want: “This, the giant cargo helicopter with (the) magnet, and basically just some new aeroplanes.”
