Following the huge popularity of the Verdansk map was always going to be a tricky task in Warzone 2. Whether it was falling from the stadium roof or scoring your very first victory, the map holds a special place in Call of Duty history.

With the Warzone 2 Season One Reloaded update fast approaching, players continue to share there’s still a demand for Verdansk to return despite members of the community giving Al Mazrah their seal of approval.

Although the return of Verdansk is highly unlikely, an eagle-eyed player has discovered a subtle tribute to the map on Reyes, one of several playable Operators.

Reyes' Verdansk Easter Egg

Before dropping into the action, Reddit user “tiktokalnuke” showcases a video highlighting the default skin for the Operator. Upon further inspection, you can see areas of Verdansk wrapped around his left arm.

The appearance of Verdansk in some capacity certainly raises your suspicions. Why would an Operator dropping into Al Mazrah have small snippets of another map? Is Infinity Ward teasing the surprise return of the iconic map? The latter option is unlikely but it is returning in Warzone Mobile if you’re wanting to take a stroll down memory lane.

There’s a high possibility of the map segments appearing as a little tribute to the map that many find so popular. For now, Al Mazrah is the main map for battle royale matches and DMZ. Infinity Ward says new maps are arriving in 2023 so it won’t be long before you can drop into a different battleground to showcase your skills

Current leaks and rumours suggest a map heavily resembling Japan’s Hashima Island will become the Warzone 2 resurgence map but as with most leaks, it’s important you take them with a pinch of salt until we hear more official information.
