Warzone 2 players concerned new gun will dominate the meta

Thanks to doses of weapon balancing from Infinity Ward and Raven Software, the meta in Warzone 2 changes on a regular basis. Call of Duty’s battle royale features an extensive arsenal of weaponry allowing players to create all kinds of loadouts to use in Al Mazrah and Ashika Island.

With Season Two Reloaded well underway, many are getting to grips with a brand-new marksman rifle that has all the ingredients needed to dominate mid-range and long-distance gunfights.

The prospect of a new weapon shaking up the game is hugely exciting, but many are concerned that it will eventually lead to another period of one gun dominating.

Will the Tempus Torrent dominate Warzone 2?

After unlocking the Tempus Torrent, Reddit user chromeshelter believes the rifle is “insanely strong” leaving some players concerned about its immense firepower.

“The new Tempus Torrent is like an FTAC Recon with a larger mag and better bullet velocity, so basically the best mid-long range gun in the game.” Despite the rifle featuring high levels of recoil, selecting a strong attachment combination limits it to ensure high levels of accuracy are maintained.

Although some members of the community are worried about another gun taking the place of the RPK, others aren’t convinced by the impressive performance of the Tempus Torrent. “It falls between the EBR and TAQ-M but the TAQ-M is still the strongest marksman rifle,” comments one fan.

This isn’t the first time a semi-automatic rifle has dominated Warzone. During Verdansk’s 1984 era, the DMR-14 shredded opponents for several months before Raven Software implemented a heavy nerf. Is there a chance of the Tempus Torrent following in the DMR’s footsteps? We’re still in the early days of Season Two Reloaded so there’s every chance the Tempus Torrent slots in amongst other viable options to create even more weapon variety.
