Ubisoft have revealed that they're launching a brand new online TV channel - entitled gTV - to celebrate videogame culture.
Ubisoft Launching A New Online TV Channel In The UK
The new channel will air several shows once it goes live on April 15th, covering various aspects of the industry. Although it's being operated by Ubisoft, coverage won't be limited to their products.
Instead, the publisher says the channel's original programming will cover everything from games development and industry events, to the players themselves.
The initial batch of programmes consist of a talk-show hosted by Jay-Ann Lopez, with guests including Ellie Gibson, Nicola Adams, Rufus Hound and Pete Donaldson, and a competitive show entitled Versus, fronted by eSports host Frankie Ward, which sees UK Twitch and YouTube stars pitted against each other.
Elsewhere, comedian Babatunde Aleshe will front an entertainment show entitled CafeXP, there's an eSports documentary series entitled Fragments, and an episodic series looking at video game inspired art called aRTY.
The shows will air across Twitch, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
Ubisoft's EMEA VP of Sales and Marketing Geoffroy Sardin said “so many of us at Ubisoft are proud players, proud to be part of video game culture. Our intent with gTV is to honour this form of entertainment, sharing stories tied to our games, but also the ones that left a mark on us as players.”
