Modders have put an awful lot of effort into making sure Skyrim has continually evolved and expanded in the years since it was first released into the world.

Many have focused on changing the game by adding their own interesting quests, cosy player homes, and unique weapons to it. A few have even gone as far as creating their own cool Dwemer gadgets or giving the Dragonborn some Assassin’s Creed-style climbing skills.

If you’re planning on making a return to Tamriel while you wait out the final stretch before Starfield arrives and think you might fancy playing as a sandwich-hoarding space pirate, a new mod might be worth adding to your load order.

Fancy prepping for Starfield by becoming a sandwich hoarder in Skyrim?

The mod in question is called ‘Sandwiches of Skyrim’ and is the latest work of modder MissileMann. Some of their previous projects have added some Witcher 3-inspired brawling tournaments to the game, in addition to the infamous McDonald's Grimace Shake.

This time, they’ve decided to cook up a variety of sandwiches to serve up to the people of Tamriel, which provide a cool new way to consume all of the different varieties of meat available in Skyrim, from horker to venison. Think of them as lore-friendly alternatives to Starfield's famous patty melt.

MissileMann has created three different types of sandwich that each cooked meat can come in, with these being basic, hearty, and savoury. “Basic contains just the meat and bread, hearty contains meat, bread, and cheese, and [savoury] contains everything plus lettuce and tomato,” they explain in the mod’s description.

You’ll find that the latter two offer slightly better buffs to your character, rewarding them for choosing something a bit more filling or healthy.

In order to get your hands on one, you’ll either need to craft them at a cooking pot or head to the local inn, with the mod distributing sarnies to each of these establishments in a manner that reflects the different animals found in specific areas of the province.

There’s also a secret recipe for a “special desert sandwich” that you can hunt down, if you’re keen on adding something unique to your collection of delicious snacks. After all, if you’re going to turf out your spouse and followers to fill your Dragonborn’s home with food, you might as well go all out.

Regardless of whether you’re now diving into a mountain of sandwiches, make sure to follow us for updates on Starfield, The Elder Scrolls 6, and the interesting world of Bethesda game modding.
