Rare's Sea of Thieves will sail into unknown waters as the shared-world adventure game will land on PlayStation 5 on April 30.

The Sea of Thieves social media account first confirmed long-standing rumours and leaks that mentioned Rare's project as one of the upcoming four Xbox titles that would go multiplatform.

Following up on Rare's post, an Xbox blog post gave fans a bit more details, explaining that Sea of Thieves will be arriving on PlayStation 5 on April 30, with players able to wishlist it on February 22.

As you'd expect, Sea of Thieves on PS5 will include cross-platform play with both Xbox and PC, meaning the community won't be split, giving PlayStation fans no reason to skip this if they're remotely interested in the unique gameplay loop the game offers.

With the confirmation of Sea of Thieves, we officially now know all four games Xbox head Phil Spencer - Hi-Fi Rush, which is also coming to PlayStation 5, Pentiment, and Grounded, both heading to PlayStation 5 as well as Nintendo Switch. In fact, Pentiment is also releasing on last-gen's PlayStation 4.

While fans had hoped bigger titles such as Starfield and the upcoming Indiana Jones game would follow suit, this won't be the case for the time being. Several rumours mentioned the Bethesda RPG would launch on PlayStation 5 but were quickly shut down.

As for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, a leak mentioned that the action-adventure title would only be exclusive to Xbox consoles for just a few months before heading to PS5.

It'll remain to be seen if more Xbox Game Studios make the jump to other consoles, with their decision potentially hinging on the success of these ports.
