The Xbox exclusive survival game Grounded is coming to Nintendo Switch. A survival game inspired by Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, Grounded shrinks you down to miniscule size to battle against huge insects in your own back yard.

Developed by Fallout New Vegas and The Outer Worlds developer Obsidian, Grounded has enjoyed years of Xbox exclusivity. However, following recent reports, the game is one of four Xbox titles that is jumping to multiplatform.

Revealed in the recent Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase, Grounded is the first Xbox exclusive to be confirmed for multiplatform release. Other titles making the jump to Switch are expected to be Pentiment and Hi-Fi Rush.

On Xbox, Grounded has released its 1.3 update, adding even more content to the survival game. With a full story campaign, a creative mode and more, Grounded is a huge title for Xbox, PC and Nintendo Switch fans.

While the release of Grounded isn’t as huge as, say, Halo on all platforms, it is a sign of Xbox’s renewed focus on multiplatform development of smaller games. While Xbox fans will get games first, some smaller titles will be able to release on multiple platforms years after their release.

Grounded releases on Nintendo Switch on April 16, 2024. The game is also available to play on PC and Xbox One/Xbox Series as a paid title or via Xbox Game Pass.
