Persona 5 Tactica is supposed to be coming out next week, but it looks like Steam players may already have the spin-off.

It turns out that Atlus accidentally released the tactical RPG early, leading to a lot of fans buying the game and even playing it for a short while.

Twitter user Wario64 posted about Tactica being released early, as they received an email from Steam saying a game they wanted is now available. Various Twitter users, like Faz, confirmed this and were even able to play it for a bit, showing that the leak was legitimate.

We say “was” because Persona 5 Tactica has since been taken off Steam, with Atlus seemingly realizing that the game was out a week early. It will be interesting to see how many players are still playing the tactical RPG, so fans may want to watch out for spoilers.

Unfortunately, this isn’t even the first major leak that Atlus caused for themselves. Many fans still remember how both Persona 5 Tactica and Persona 3 Reload were revealed days early when they were supposed to be shown off in the Xbox Showcase.

Despite the leak, we doubt this will affect sales in the long run since the Persona fanbase is a pretty passionate one. JRPG fans have been in love with the series since the third game, with P5 being the pinnacle of this series thus far. Even those who aren’t in love with the fifth game still agree that it’s a well-made JRPG, at the very least.

Tactica is the fourth Persona 5 spin-off, coming after Q2, Strikers, and Dancing in Starlight. While Strikers was a sequel and the other two were non-canon, Tactica is doing something a bit different as it takes place right before the original game’s ending. This installment also takes place in the Persona 5 Royal canon, as the DLC features Akechi and Kasumi.

Persona 5 Tactica is coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC on November 16. Be sure to check out our review next week, where we’ll detail how we feel about the latest spin-off.
