Modern Warfare 2 weapon scope has built-in flashbang?!

Before loading into the action, players have uncovered a weapon optic that features its very own built-in flashbang which comes in handy if players get too close for comfort.

Uncovered by Reddit user SSYorimz, the Raptor-FVM40 scope features a ‘very large sniper glint’ as its only con in addition to a bullet drop indicator that guarantees players hit their intended target regardless of distance.

Although there’s no mention of a flashbang appearing as part of this particular optic, the glint is so bright that it’s visible through smoke grenades. “Glint unironically shows up through smoke. Smoke in this game is dodgy and seems to mostly depend if it’s near you or a distance away.

Considering there are minimal ways to counter the blinding glint, one fan has suggested an ingenious way to combat the optic. “One way to counter people who use this scope is to equip your own sniper with the max zoom thermal optic. It also has a large glint so you’re blinding the enemy sniper.”

At range, sniper scopes with high glint balance each other out while at closer distances, the sudden appearance of a blinding light is bound to cause problems for those running and gunning all over the map. We’ll have to wait and see if Infinity Ward decides to nerf the glint and stop the improvised flashbang once and for all.
