A Hunter x Hunter fighting game is finally coming

The publisher, Bushiroad Games, did confirm fans can expect more information at the Bushiroad New Year Presentation 2024 scheduled to go down on January 6. This is where we'll most likely see a full reveal of what the Hunter x Hunter fighting game actually looks like.

Eighting are veteran fighting game developers, they specialise in licensed anime fighters. Some of their most iconic projects include the Naruto Clash of Ninja series, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, and most recently, co-developing DNF Duel alongside Arc System Works and Neople.

Having Eighting as the main developer of the upcoming Hunter x Hunter fighting game raises an interesting question - what type of game will it be? The Naruto Clash of Ninja was a 3D fighter similar to Tekken or Virtua Fighter, they also developed some bizarre arena fighters like InuYasha Feudal Combat.

Tatsunoko vs Capcom was their take on a fast-paced Marvel vs Capcom-like game and could be a great fit for HxH. They also gained some experience with 2D anime fighters helping industry veterans Arc Sys with DNF Duel.

HxH is an iconic shonen with an amazing cast of characters, so the devs won't have trouble finding inspiration to create an eclectic and interesting cast of characters. Only time will tell what type of fighting game it'll be.
