GBVSR is the latest fighting game to catch the attention of the FGC and newcomers to the genre alike. In a year which gave us Street Fighter 6 and Mortal Kombat 1, the developers have made the interesting decision to release a free version.

We're not talking about a traditional demo, in this free edition of Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising you'll get access to the vast majority of key features including training mode, online matches (both ranked and casual), and even full access to Gran Bruise Legends! an in-game Fall Guys clone.

Of course, there are a few caveats as no story mode and a limited selection of characters you can try. Still, it's an amazing way to try out the game before you pull the trigger on buying the complete version.

Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising free character rotation (Dec 21-28)

For this week, the following playable characters will be available in the free edition of Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising.

• Anila

Gran, the protagonist of the series, will be the only character that will always be a part of the rotation, so if you're just lucking to grind with him then you're in luck.

The three remaining slots will rotate on a weekly basis. This week's characters are all marked as relatively simple to use, making it a perfect way to test out a variety of playstyles and see which one fits you the most.
