Some players have recently been doing so by replaying The Contract update's missions in order to earn the cash required to buy a 50-car garage and fill it up with interesting automobiles. However, it seems one has instead taken to the sea and encountered an interesting glitch.

Their unusual amphibious discovery forms the subject of a recent thread on the GTA Online subreddit, which began with a post from the player in question, user ssweatband, who shared an image of their character posing atop a static whale floating above the sea and captioned it: “Why is there a beached whale in the middle of the ocean?”
An array of fellow criminals quickly offered some theories as to how the poor creature had ended up in this confusing predicament, with user JointSpoint jokingly declaring: “(It) definitely has something to do with Mount Chiliad. Everything is connected to Chiliad.”, while One-Mycologist-6001 said: “It followed you home from Cayo (Perico), now you have to keep it.”
User ze_ex_21 decided to don their tinfoil hat and expand on the Chiliad idea, managing to take the number of letters in the word ‘Chiliad’ and, by way of unexpected links to astronomy and Italian currency, arrive at the exact number of letters in the phrase ‘Mt. Chiliad'.”
Meanwhile, user Sablegolf4755 offered a more grounded explanation, musing: “That’s a mis-spawning of a Cayo Perico easter egg.”
Sadly, this seemingly puts pay to the desires of user sammyb2, who looks to have thought the whale might be proof that pets are coming to GTA Online.
