While many GTA players are just trying to enjoy their remaining time in Los Santos by filling up their new 50-car garage with exotic cars or engaging in some dodgy street deals, some are already looking forward to GTA 6.

After all, aren’t you curious to see what the next game’s map will look like, how it might incorporate mechanics from Red Dead Redemption 2, or whether you’ll be tasked with saving the world during your first playthrough?

While all of this likely won’t be known until the game finally arrives, some players are currently discussing how they’d like it to improve on the offerings of GTA 5 when it comes to water travel.

Do you want to have more aquatic adventures in GTA 6 than you've had in Los Santos?

Their sea-based suggestions form the subject of a recent thread on the GTA Online subreddit, which began with a post from user yi_ero.

They kicked things off by declaring: “GTA 6 will be set in Vice City, so I think it's pretty safe to assume that boats would have a bigger role than in any previous GTA. The problem is that boats are pretty lame (if you're not into boats).”

Having established a firm opening point, yi_ero then listed a number of ideas that they think might help make GTA 6’s yachts and dinghies more popular, such as adding more interactive activities to the decks of bigger vessels and making some locations solely accessible or quicker to reach via watercraft.

Many of their fellow criminals seemed to share their enthusiasm for the ocean, with user JayyFisher2018 saying: “I fully rate this. Hope all of (the) above is true. I’d also love underwater exploration with coral reefs and strong currents.” and Amir_s89 adding: “(I want) different types and sizes (of boat). Some of them (could be) like a small home for the player.”

Meanwhile, user d4ng3rz0n3 pointed out that having a larger focus on maritime movement could also benefit other aspects of the game, suggesting: “Miami has a lot of draw bridges that stop vehicle traffic and open for larger boats to pass by…(there would) definitely (be) some opportunities for chase sequences and stunt jumps and things along those lines (utilising those structures).”

Regardless of whether you’re planning to spend your heist plunder on a fine vessel with which you can take on the high seas, make sure to follow us for more GTA 6 and GTA Online updates as new vehicles and more arrive.
