Fortnite Chapter 5 is adding a ton of content, but it’s also missing out on what players want from the battle royale. Sure, they could go easy on those age restrictions, but fans want Solid Snake from Metal Gear Solid to have his butt back.
Now that most players have their hands on Chapter 5, Metal Gear Solid fans were quick to check Snake out and were disappointed in what they saw. Sure, the character looks fine in Epic Games’ free-to-play shooter, but gamers were quick to notice that Snake has lost his butt again.
On Twitter, Topher Florence documented the decline of Snake’s glorious posterior, once looking amazing in Metal Gear Solid 2 and Super Smash Bros. Brawl. However, ever since Snake appeared in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, the character’s butt has disappointed fans and that continues in Fortnite.
Admittedly, Snake isn’t the only character to suffer from a shrinking butt, as other characters have also seen their cake gets decreased. Omni-Man, who had a great-looking rump in Mortal Kombat 1, was also given a flat behind on Fortnite.
This is likely due to the age restrictions in Fortnite, as the free-to-play shooter now has areas that are for everyone. While kids have always been a major part of the shooter’s success, it seems that Epic Games wants to be extra safe and banned several cosmetics that are too violent or sexual.
It’s not just Epic Games that has made Snake a bit sauceless lately, as Konami did this as well. Granted, he still has a great butt in the Master Collection, and we hope he still has that in Vol. 2, but the first collection was released in a rough state. Some patches have since been released, but it’s still disappointing to see PS1 and PS2 games run so poorly on modern platforms.
