Just in case you forgot, NetherRealm Studios has popped its head back up to remind fans that there is plenty more blood to be spilt in Mortal Kombat 1. A gameplay trailer for the game's first downloadable character, Invincible's Omni-Man, not only shows off some brilliant new gameplay, but also the all important release date.

The gameplay trailer for the MK1 Omni Man DLC reveals a super speedy release date of November 9, 2023 via the official Mortal Kombat 1 Twitter account. The new trailer not only recreates an array of one-liners from the not-so-superhero, but also gives fans a good look at his combat style.

The most deliciously brutal segment of the clip was Omni-Man's fatality, which saw him give poor Kenshi a tour of a packed train head-on at full speed, the result of which is simply dripping with the gory creativity Mortal Kombat is famous for.

Omni-Man is just the first of many DLC characters that will be making an appearance in Mortal Kombat 1 and he's not the only super-powered a-hole to join the roster. Future DLCs will include the likes of The Boys' Homelander, as well as DC's Peacemaker who is, of course, played by WWE icon John Cena. Superheroes aside, future DLCs will also feature several original fan favourites from the Mortal Kombat franchise, namely Takeda, Quan Chi, and Ermac. On top of that, several Kameos are waiting in line to join the fray including Mavado, Ferra, Khameleon, Johhny Cage, and Tremor, the latter of which was featured in the trailer for Omni-Man as well.

It looks like we'll still have to wait a while for the mouth-watering match-up between the dysfunctional duo of Omni-Man and Homelander, who is anticipated to be the punching bag of MK1. Fortunately, fans have only a few more days to bide their time before they can let the warped Superman loose on the kombatants of Earthrealm and Outworld alike.
