It took a couple of years but Fortnite is finally bringing back the incredibly rare Black Widow outfit that caught fans by surprise back in 2019. This original look for the Marvel heroine has been gone for a very long time, so fans are more than excited about its return.
According to a post from Fortnite News, this unique Black Widow look has been gone for 1,668 days. Supposedly, this is the second-rarest item in the free-to-play shooter, so fans may want to skip the “free” part when it comes to getting this cosmetic for the game.
Seeing this unique look for Natasha Romanov come back to Fortnite after all these years is still pretty shocking. The suit seemingly disappeared after 2020’s Black Widow Snow Suit appeared, but the RNG gods have finally blessed players with this Marvel outfit.
What makes this costume of Black Widow so interesting is that it’s a completely original design made for the game. Both Widow and Spider-Man received original looks, while other Marvel characters stuck with their more iconic or modern outfits. The Fortnite Spider-Man costume is still fairly popular, appearing in a Fortnite x Marvel crossover series and in the background of Across the Spider-Verse.
Despite its rarity, this Black Widow costume isn’t the rarest suit in the game. Taking first place is the World Warrior outfit, which will supposedly never return. At the least, fans can finally have the striking original suit for the Marvel hero.
No reason was given for the Fortnite outfit disappearing for such a long time, as various Marvel outfits have rotated in and out since. Some are more frequent than others but this version of Widow literally disappeared after 2020, so this is a win.
It will be interesting to see if this Black Widow outfit is allowed in the PG Fortnite Creative maps. Since some of these are made with children in mind, age restrictions were given to the game’s costumes, including Black Widow’s Snow Suit.
