Elden Ring players are certainly getting a lot of mileage out of the base version of the game while they wait for more news on its highly-anticipated DLC.

Some streamers have even gone as far as completing challenge runs through The Lands Between using Bop-Its, dance pads, and the electrical activity from their brains.

Meanwhile many players like to spice up their latest attempt to carve through the game’s infamous bosses using mods, which can offer the likes of a first-person viewpoint, some extra unique attacks or randomised fog gates. If you’re a fan of Sekiro, a new weapon-centric addition to Elden Ring might be worth adding to your load order.

Ever wanted to carve through Elden Ring using the moveset of a fearsome boss from Sekiro?

The mod in question is called ‘Heaven Splitter - Genichiro Moveset’ and is the work of modder clevererraptor6. Some of their previous projects have challenged you to hunt down some extremely powerful foes and cast sorceries from your hands.

This time, they’ve added a new weapon pairing to the game, which uses a moveset based on that of Sekiro’s Genichiro Ashina, the boss you can battle both in Ashina Reservoir and Ashina Castle.

Equipping this armament set, which consists of “a long-bladed katana paired with a powerful eastern greatbow, both (of which are) imbued with dragon's lightning,” will allow you to unleash an array of sword and bow attacks using R1 and R2 respectively, as you can see in the showcase video below.

In addition to far-reaching slashes and evasive shots that rely on pressing the two buttons at specific times, the moveset also features some totally unique manoeuvres.

With a two-handed sprinting attack that triggers a combo dubbed “Floating Passage” and guard counter that launches “a powerful volley of arrows” at your disposal, you’ll definitely be a force to be reckoned with.

There’s also a unique skill called “Heaven's Call”, which allows you to “call upon the heavens and summon a great bolt of ancient lightning onto your blade,” which is then slammed to the ground in order to temporarily give your Tarnished’s weapons an electrical energy buff.

In order to get your hands on the powerful weapon pairing, which is displayed in the bow category of your inventory, you’ll need to head to see Caelid’s Dragonbarrow Isolated Merchant or pick the samurai class at the start of a new playthrough.

If you want to to improve your character’s magical arsenal while you’re switching up their loadout, you could also check out another new mod, wightnite’s ‘101 Sorceries’, which replaces every single incantation in the game with a similar, but more practical, sorcery.

Regardless of whether you’re now slicing up and shooting at Malenia in a manner Genichiro would approve of, make sure to follow us for coverage of some interesting streamers and guides to Shadow of the Erdtree as soon as it arrives.
