While a lot of Cyberpunk 2077 players are already imagining how sweet life will be when the Phantom Liberty Expansion arrives and they can ditch their old flame Keanu Reeves for a fresh celebrity companion in Idris Elba, some are still hanging out in Night City while they wait.
For veteran players that haven’t recently started fresh playthroughs, odds are their recent antics have included a mix of racing around town to complete the last few gigs in their quest log and exploring CD Projekt Red’s dense urban jungle on foot to try and unearth hidden secrets.
If you’re the kind of choom who’s running out of diversions to keep you occupied and long to spend a bit more time with some of the characters you met during the game’s main story, a group of new mods might be worth adding to your load order.
Feel like you need a couple of extra opportunities to spend time with some of Cyberpunk 2077’s most beloved characters?
The first of the mods in question is called ‘New Quest - Californication’ and is the work of prolific modder Deceptious, whose previous projects have given you the chance to replay romance cutscenes and use Megabuilding H10’s shooting range whenever you like.
This time, using a new framework they’ve developed which “allows for multiple quest type mods to use a single hook”, they’ve added a few extra missions to the game designed to immersively follow on from some of its most memorable side quests.
‘Californication’, for example, involves meeting Judy Alvarez atop a dam and taking in a beautiful sunset at her side, providing an extra reward for those who’ve chosen to romance the rebellious Mox and convince her to stay in Night City.
Sadly, though, there’s no evidence you’ll also get to hang out with shirtless versions of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers.
The second of the new quests, dubbed ‘Hot Fuzz’, also centres around chilling with Judy after becoming her love interest, though it’s seemingly a bit more risque, involving “a little fun” at the No-Tell Motel.
Finally, there’s ‘One More Light’, which will see you visit the spot in the North Oak Columbarium dedicated to your heist partner Jackie Welles after you’ve attended his ofrenda during the quest ‘Heroes’ and chat with him about the events that have been going on since his passing.
If you want to give any of these a go, you’ll first need to grab Psiberx’s ‘TweakXL’ and ‘ArchiveXL’, in addition to WopsS’ ‘RED4ext’ and the aforementioned framework mod.
