The British Academy Games Awards (BAFTA) has announced this year's nominations, and Returnal and It Takes Two lead the charge. Taking eight nominations each, that was closely followed by Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart at seven, Forza Horizon 5 and Psychonauts 2 took six, while Deathloop picked up five.
Announcing 16 different categories - including Best British game, Best Debut, and Best Animation - we're missing Best Performer and Best Supporting Performer currently. However, BAFTA did reveal the prestigious Best Game nominees . That includes Deathloop, Forza Horizon 5, Inscryption, It Takes Two, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

Surprisingly, Metroid Dread only picked up a nomination for the EE Game of the Year award, which is voted on by the public. Otherwise, Nintendo saw nominations for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Mario Party Superstars, and Game Builder Garage, across the Evolving Game, Family and Game Beyond Entertainment categories respectively.
