Lyra's Snakes & Stones Challenge Pack Pricing Inconsistency on Nintendo's Switch

Fortnite's Snakes & Stones Challenge Pack released last night (May 17, 2021), featuring the Medusa, Lyra, accessories, and 1,500 V-Bucks worth of challenges for players to complete.

There was a slight problem with the bundle's release, with Nintendo Switch owners finding a higher price than expected for the Challenge Pack.

Lyra's Switch Woes

Fortnite's Snakes & Stones challenge packs is $11.99, offering players the following:

  • Lyra Skin (with blue alternate style)
  • Agent Stones Back Bling
  • Slitherous Staff Harvesting Tool
  • Challenges to earn 1,500 V-Bucks

The challenges included in the Snakes & Stones Challenge Pack include:

  • Complete Uncommon or Rarer Quests (6) – 100 V-Bucks
  • Complete Uncommon or Rarer Quests (12) – 200 V-Bucks
  • Complete Uncommon or Rarer Quests (18) – 300 V-Bucks
  • Complete Uncommon or Rarer Quests (24) – 400 V-Bucks
  • Complete Uncommon or Rarer Quests (30) – 500 V-Bucks

However, Nintendo Switch users were surprises to see the price of the Challenge Pack listed at $15.99 in Nintendo's eShop.

Epic Games quickly fixed the issue and will be providing more info for players who purchased the pack at a later date.

The best result would be for players who purchased the pack to get a refund in the price difference, but it may be that they get some extra V-Bucks for their trouble.

The time Epic is taking to respond to this probably has to do with them checking with Legal to ensure what their liability is in this situation and how they can offer resolution with the least path of resistance.

While $15.99 is still a great value for the contents of the Challenge Pack, it is unfair for the players of one system to be charged more than other players for the same content.
