Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2: Patch Notes, Update And Season 2 Predictions For Xbox One, PS4, PC, Switch, Android And iOS

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 is finally here and is likely being downloaded to your platform of choice as we speak. We're all waiting to see what is in the works for a historic season in the game's lifespan as a new engine is set to arrive.

Hopefully, the wait is worth it, especially after Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 was delayed until February 2020.

Fortnite Chapter 2 has been praised for its huge improvement compared to the later seasons within Chapter 1, by decluttering the map and bringing mechanics back to basics.

With so much that could be added, what is it we can expect to see?

Here's what we expect from the Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 2 patch notes and update.

Season 2 Theme

Looks like we're going all Bond for this spy-inspired season. There are tuxedos, evil lairs, and even a... muscular cat-man?

Check out the trailer below, with the season now officially titled "Top Secret".

Season 2 Bug Fixes

As always, Epic has been squashing bugs left, right and centre.

  • Players no longer get stuck on loading screens after accepting an invite before selecting game mode.
  • Players can now select traps with a controller when 'Pick Up' indicator is on-screen.
  • Game will no longer crash when selecting controller settings menu that may result in a blank controller layout.
  • Players will no longer pick up 'down-but-not-out' teammates when trying to switch to their Pickaxe.
  • Players will no longer be temporarily unable to move or do any other action after Emoting.
  • Fixed an issue where the "Could not join party" message was wrongly occurring.
  • Removed the delay in movement after using a movement key to exit your inventory.

Season 2 Map Changes

The centre point of Fortnite's Chapter 2 map has been drastically revamped already. Previously just a small island, Eye-Land is now a sizeable complex with a landing pad and more.

There's also an Oil Rig in the Southwest of the map, which means you can drop to that corner for bonus loot.

We recently covered some of the worst locations to drop in the new map, as well as some of the best locations to drop. These are undoubtedly the first points of interest to change within Season 2.

These locations are:

  • FN Radio
  • Crash Site
  • Base Camp Hotel
  • Dirty Docks
  • Misty Meadows
  • Sweaty Sands

Season 2 Weapons

We're still looking for fresh tools of destruction, but we know that Dynamite is back thanks to an Epic Tweet – a weapon that was previously vaulted in June 2019.

There are plenty of weapons that will be adjusted in the new patch and potentially unvaulted, perhaps we will see something like the thermal assault rifle return?

With the most recent Winterfest event, where a new weapon was unvaulted for a day, Epic Games will have looked at how that weapon was received by the community and whether it now has a permanent place within the game.

These included:

  • Heavy Sniper
  • Double Barrel
  • Drum Gun
  • Flint-Knock Pistol
  • Stink Bombs
  • Infantry Rifle
  • Dual Pistols
  • Tac SMG
  • Shockwave Grenades
  • Drum Shotgun
  • Boom Bow
  • Hand Cannon
  • Suppressed SMG
  • Boogie Bomb

Season 2 Skins & Events

A new season will mean new skins to reflect the seasonal theme, as well as old ones resurfacing in the store.

One very influential factor on new skins has always been holidays and a few do fall during this period.

Here are the holidays that we expect to see during Season 2:

  • Valentines Day
  • Chinese New Year
  • April Fools Day

You can read out skin predictions here.

Alongside the usual 1500 V-Bucks that players can earn from filling out their Battle Pass, Deadpool has been added to Fortnite. Yes, THAT Deadpool.
