Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 has finally dropped on all platforms and there's never been a better time to jump into the battle royale with friends – even if they're on a different platform.
It's nice and easy to set up, too, but there are some hoops to jump through. Don't worry, there's nothing too taxing, but you and your friends will need to ensure you're signed up to an Epic account.
PC, Mac and mobile gamers will already have one, but you can set one up here.
Once you've done that, just link your account to your various console accounts like Xbox Live or PlayStation Network on the Epic site and then we'll get started.
How To Cross-Play in Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5
If you're expecting to jump into a Mobile lobby as a PC player and wreck shop, we have bad news – you'll be playing alongside players of the top platform in your squad.
So if you have a PC or Mac player, you'll be playing PC or Mac players for the most part. If you're all on PS4 and Xbox One, you won't have to deal with mouse and keyboard aficionados.
Once you've all got Epic accounts, you'll need to add everyone as friends within the Epic account system. You'll have to use the Epic Games Launcher for this, so download it here on PC or Mac. You can search for your friend's username or email address when adding them.
Now you can see your friends in the lobby screen of whatever platform you're playing on, but there is one sizeable caveat – party chat.
With no unifying way of chatting with your squad, you'll want to use something like Google Hangouts, Skype, or Discord to plot out your strategies for that all-important Victory Royale.
