How to get the Troll Mount in FFXIV

If you’re looking to get your hands on Troll mount in FFXIV, you’d better prepare for the long haul. On paper, all you need to do is buy it, but the required currency and how you come by it make this a much more involved task than you might think at first

How To Get Troll Mount In FFXIV

The Troll mount comes from the Faux Commander in Idyllshire, the merchant who trades in Faux Leaves. It costs 600 Faux Leaves, but you can only get them by completing Unreal Trials.

These are challenging encounters with powerful bosses, such as the Ultima weapon, designed to test the mettle of characters who’ve reached the level cap. Your rewards are Faux Leaves, among other things, though there are some caveats.

How To Unlock Unreal Trials in FFXIV

You’ll first need to complete the Shadowbringers main scenario and Keeping Up With The Aliapohs quest. It eventually unlocks the Fantastic Mr Faux quest (level 80), given by the Painfully Ishgardian Man in Idyllshire. This quest directs you to the Faux Commander and introduces Unreal Trials and Faux Hollows, an extra challenge that unlocks after you complete the Trial.

You can only complete one Unreal Trial per week and get 100 Faux Leaves, so it’ll take a while before you have enough to get the Troll mount.

Alternatively, you can trade one Khloe’s Gold Certificate for the Troll Mount if you have one. These take a while to earn as well, though the grind is at least more varied. You’ll earn a Khloe Gold Certificate as a Wondrous Tails reward. Wondrous Tails also unlocks after Keeping Up With The Aliapohs and gives you rewards for completing older dungeons and trials.
