FUT Birthday will be leaving FIFA 21's Ultimate Team this Friday, but fear not, as the Team of the Season isn't far away.

We understand that the TOTS promotion could be heading to the Ultimate Team servers as soon as the end of April, which means it's time to start looking at who could be coming!

We've already looked at the Premier League, and now it's time for the Spanish top flight, La Liga.

Predictions

It's been an up and down La Liga season so far!

Recent struggles from inital runaway leaders Atletico Madrid has opened the door for Barcelona and Real Madrid to sneak back into contention.

The battle for European football next season is well and truly on too, so there's plenty still to be decided.

Here is our La Liga TOTS (so far)!

Jan Oblak (97 OVR)

There are plenty of top tier goalkeepers in the Spanish top flight, but it's Jan Oblack who's taking the gloves here.

The Slovenian stopper has registered the second most saves in the league so far this season (78) whilst also registering the most clean sheets (14).

Jordi Alba (94 OVR)

The left back position should once again be heading to FC Barcelona's Jordi Alba.

The Spaniard has been one of the standout performers for Barca this season, especially in recent weeks, earning himself a TOTW spot aswell as a MOTM card.

Sergio Ramos (95 OVR)

Now it wouldn't be a TOTS without an appearance from Sergio Ramos, would it?

The veteran Spaniard has been the main man at the back for Real Madrid this season, as they make a late surge for back-to-back La Liga crowns.

Jules Kounde (90 OVR)

Now as far as Ramos' centre back partner goes, there are a few options.

However we're opting for Sevilla centre back, Jules Kounde. With an expected 89/90-rated pace, this card could be one of the very best in FUT!

Kieran Trippier (91 OVR)

The right back role in this years TOTS should be awarded to Atletico Madrid's Kieran Trippier.

The Englishman has been in fine form for Atleti in their title quest this season, putting himself in contenion for a Euro 2021 appearance in the process.

Marcos Llorente (92 OVR)

Another Atletico Madrid man who should be included this season is Spanish centre midfielder, Marcos Llorente.

The Spaniard has nine goals and eight assists so far this campaign for Diego Simeone's men, his best season in the capital by some distance.

Toni Kroos (95 OVR)

Toni Kroos rolled back the years with a stellar display in Real's 3-1 win over Liverpool in the Champions League, and he's performed similarly in domestic football too.

The German has eight assists so far this campaign, the joint most of any midfielder in the competition, as he continues to shine at the Bernabeu.

Frenkie De Jong (94 OVR)

The third and final midfield spot is up for debate, but we're edging towards Barcelona's Frenkie De Jong.

The Dutchman has been a mainstay in Ronald Koeman's side this season, and has registered the most passes in the competition by some distance.

Lionel Messi (97 OVR)

He may have missed out on a place in the TOTY, but he won't be missing out on the La Liga TOTS.

Lionel Messi has once again shown why he is considered by many to be the greatest to ever play the game, leading his side back into title contention with a league high 23 goals in the campaign.

Luis Suarez (95 OVR)

Now if Atletico do go on to win the title this season, then Barcelona's hierarchy may be kicking themselves for letting this man go.

Luis Suarez has been in prolific form for Atleti this season, with 21 goal contributions for his new side so far.

Karim Benzema (96 OVR)

Completing the starting eleven will be Real Madrid's Karim Benzema.

With 24 goal contribtions so far, the Frenchman is showing the bosses at the Camp Nou that Kylian Mbappe may not be so neccessary after all. A superb season for the 33-year-old.

Honourable Mentions

With plenty of the season still to play, this list could change dramatically by the time the season is out.

With that in mind, here are some honourable mentions to consider:

  • Casimero - 93 OVR
  • Dani Parejo - 92 OVR
  • Mikel Oyarzabal - 91 OVR
  • Iago Aspas - 90 OVR
  • Gerard Moreno - 89 OVR
  • Youssef En-Neysiri - 89 OVR

All the answers will come in due course, but we're hoping for some huge cards when the La Liga TOTS comes to town!
