La Liga Ratings Refresh Predictions

A very interesting selection is likely for the La Liga Ratings Refresh this year, with a number of players from Real Madrid due for an upgrade, along with some younger talents receiving upgrades, such as Martin Odegaard, Federico Valverde and Rodrygo.

Casemiro - 87 > 88 (+1)

A standout performer so far this year for Real Madrid, and is currently the 2nd highest rated performer of the season on WhoScored.com, behind Lionel Messi.

Karim Benzema - 87 > 88 (+1)

The 32-year-old has had a fantastic start to the season, with 12 goals in 18 games, with 7 MOTM awards, meaning an upgrade is very likely.

Raphael Varane - 85 > 86 (+1)

With 2 IFs and a Headliner card, I can definitely see Varane being upgraded, an 85 doesn’t seem to do him justice this year.

Clement Lenglet - 85 > 86 (+1)

Having kept Samuel Umtiti out of the Barcelona team, it seems fair that Clement Lenglet gets a boost in rating to match his fellow French teammate.

Frenkie De Jong - 85 > 86 (+1)

Having received a TOTY item, it seems likely that Frenkie will receive an upgrade to his base card, so an 86 seems very likely.

Saul - 85 > 86 (+1)

Saul has been a solid performer for Atletico so far this season, as shown with his new Headliners card. I’d expect a small upgrade thanks to his fine form so far this season.

Arthur - 84 > 85 (+1)

Arthur has been slowly breaking into the Barcelona midfield this season and has been a solid performer when included, so I can see a small boost to an 85.

Nabil Fekir - 84 > 85 (+1)

One of the top 5 performers in La Liga this season according to WhoScored, Fekir has 6 MOTM awards and should be receiving an upgrade this Winter.

Santi Cazorla - 82 > 84 (+2)

Santi Cazorla has been incredible for Villarreal this season, picking up 7 goals and 4 assists as the playmaker in the team. A +2 upgrade is very likely.

Mikel Oyarzabal - 82 > 84 (+2)

The Sociedad winger has had a very strong start to the season, picking up 7 goals and 4 assists in 20 appearances, a decent return for the 22-year-old, meaning an upgrade should be happening.

Thomas Partey - 82 > 83 (+1)

SoFifa.com has Partey down as an 83 rated card currently, so he could be in line to receive an upgrade.

Iker Muniain - 82 > 83 (+1)

A solid performer so far this season for Bilbao with 4 goals, SoFifa has Muniain tipped to get a +1 upgrade this Winter.

Gerard Moreno - 81 > 83 (+2)

Villarreal’s top scorer this season, with 8 goals and 3 MOTM awards, Gerard Moreno should get an upgrade and a potential RM position change.

Martin Odegaard - 78 > 82 (+4)

The Norwegian has been brilliant for Sociedad so far in his breakthrough season, earning 4 goals, 5 assists and 3 MOTM awards so far, and should be set for a big upgrade and a CAM position change.

Raul Garcia - 80 > 82 (+2)

The 33-year-old has been Bilbao’s star man this season, netting 6 goals and 2 MOTM awards from midfield, and should be due an upgrade.

Karl Toko-Ekambi - 79 > 82 (+3)

With an In-Form and POTM item so far this season, Toko-Ekambi could be in store for an upgrade this Ratings Refresh.

Ferland Mendy - 80 > 81 (+1)

One of FUT’s most popular cards, Ferland Mendy looks set to receive a small upgrade having broken into and established a spot in the Real Madrid first team.

Federico Valverde - 77 > 81 (+4)

The Uruguayan midfielder should receive a healthy upgrade this year, having established himself in the Madrid first team, and has contributed 2 goals and 3 assists so far this season.

Rodrygo - 76 > 80 (+4)

The young Brazilian prodigy should receive an upgrade of a few ratings this winter after putting in some good performances.

Chimy Avila - 75 > 80 (+5)

With 9 goals and 5 MOTM awards, Osasuna’s main man should be set for a large upgrade during this years’ Ratings Refresh.

Renan Lodi - 77 > 80 (+3)

The 21-year-old Brazilian has staked his claim to the LB spot for Atletico Madrid this season, bagging 1 goal, 2 assists and a MOTM award, and looks set to receive a good upgrade.

Ferran Torres - 75 > 79 (+4)

The 19-year-old has been having a great season for Valencia on the right-hand side, netting 6 goals and 4 assists in all competitions, and should be set for a nice +4 upgrade.

Unai Simon - 73 > 79 (+6)

The young Bilbao keeper has been a standout this season, having already received 2 MOTM awards for big performances away at Real Madrid and Villarreal.

Expected Release Date for Ratings Refresh

Last year, we saw La Liga upgrades released around February 22nd. I’d expect a similar release date this year, depending on how EA structure their promos.
