Fighting your way through Elden Ring can be so difficult at times that it can stop the game being a fun romp and turn it into a hard slog, even if you’ve had your motivational pep talk from Israel Adesanya.

Sometimes, no matter how much medieval firepower is at your disposal, there’s that one pesky boss battle that just proves too much for you but isn’t bad enough to warrant seeking a way to make the game too much easier.

Thankfully, a new mod might cater to those only seeking minor adjustments to their Elden Ring experience.

Elden Ring Gets a Little Rejigging

The mod in question is called “Elden re-balance” and is the work of outstandingly named modder trexstolemycontroller, whose goal was to “make the game more enjoyable” via a series of tweaks.

The first of these changes affect enemies and the game’s overall difficulty, with both enemy and stamina damage being reduced by 25%.

If you’re opting for a new game plus playthrough, the decreased enemy damage will see a small buff, but unlike in the vanilla game, neither the stamina nor poise damage inflicted by them will increase, with the same applying to their posture levels.

For your character, things are a little rosier, with talismans offering more effective restoration of the stats they affect, from health to perfume potency, just in case you don’t smell nice enough to seduce the bosses.

Similar buffs have been applied to the flask of wondrous physick and all other consumables, from cured meats to dried liver.

Magical incantations are also affected, with their durations being boosted to ensure that you can reap the benefits of their effects for a few extra seconds, which may be all you need to strike that elusive killing blow.

Smithing and the ashes of war also see some minor edits, to give your weaponry some added oomph.

Finally, merchant inventories have undergone a revamp, with merchant Kale, the imprisoned merchant of Mohgwyn dynasty mausoleum, twin maidens, and Pidia the carian all now selling infinite amounts of specific items and resources.

In order to install the mod properly, make sure to grab mod engine 2 first.
