After nearly four years of waiting, FromSoftware's Elden Ring finally lands this month and the marketing push has begun. Carrying out new interviews, game director Hidetaka Miyazaki confirmed he's a big fan of Hazelight's It Takes Two.
Speaking in a PlayStation Blog interview about Elden Ring, Miyazaki was asked whether he plays any games these days, and if so, which ones grabbed his attention. Stating he hasn't had "had a lot of time to play video games lately," It Takes Two stuck with him.
Elden Ring's Director Really Loved It Takes Two
Asked what he thought made It Takes Two "unique or memorable," Miyazaki confirmed he didn't have "much interest in it at first" but later resonated with it, stating:
It didn’t let up throughout, and it never let me get bored. The art and gameplay are different in each stage, and the game encourages you to cooperate across its entirety yet still maintains that artistic element. It’s continually fun to play and felt extremely fresh to me right up until the end, which was impressive to me as a fellow creator.
It Takes Two recently took home Game of the Year during The Game Awards 2021, beating out Resident Evil Village, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, and more. As for Elden Ring, that recently went gold, launching on February 25 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. We'll keep you informed with further updates as they happen.
