The PlayStation Store has welcomed Cyberpunk 2077 back, but it's not just returning. CD Projekt Red announced that their PS5 version will be updated. It may be one of the most exciting things the company has done in a very long time.

With a considerable hype train behind it, Cyberpunk 2077 was quickly one of the most highly-anticipated games of 2020. However, when Cyberpunk 2077 launched, it immediately became apparent that it would run horribly on base consoles such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Critics gave Cyberpunk 2077 primarily positive reviews because the game ran smoothly on powerful PCs. On the PS5, Cyberpunk 2077 should offer a similar performance and graphics experience to the PC version, so console owners will have a second chance to experience the game. Cyberpunk 2077 will continue to receive patches to fix the game's remaining issues, so it should be considerably better when the PS5 version is released.

The next-generation version of Cyberpunk 2077 may not be the only new feature this year for fans of the game. There is a possibility that the plans for Cyberpunk 2077 DLC could change, but CD Projekt Red has stated that the DLC is currently underway. The release date of the DLC is expected to be late 2021. Cyberpunk 2077's next-generation version and the potential DLC could very well boost the game's reputation this year.
