CD Projekt Red had to jump through many hoops to get Cyberpunk 2077 back onto the PlayStation Store. It seems like PlayStation needed the game to be more stable on their platform because CD Projekt Red seems to have gone through drastic measures to improve stability.
On the Playstation version of the Cyberpunk 2077 1.23 patch, it is easy to notice how few pedestrians and cars there are. It's almost like driving around a small town instead of a sprawling city.
Cyberpunk 2077 update 1.23 is worse on PlayStation 4
Players are currently debating whether yesterday's 1.23 patch improved Cyberpunk 2077 before returning to the PlayStation Store today. Now we know it did, but we aren't sure that CD Projekt Red made the best choices.
It wasn't noted in the 1.23 patch notes what changes were made to PlayStation, but there are still eagle-eyed players looking for them, comparing and contrasting. CDPR appears to have changed the PS4 version of the game to make it run more smoothly by sacrificing a lot of its pedestrian and traffic density. It's almost all gone in some cases, which makes the city feel empty and unoccupied.
As seen in the 1.1 patch, Cyberpunk 2077's first significant update after a series of hotfixes. Although it is not densely populated, traffic is always present, and a few pedestrians pass by every so often.
Here is the 1.10 version:
As you can see, density has been reduced to almost nothing for version 1.23. Occasionally, I see a few cars and, what, a pedestrian once in a while? Unfortunately, the framerate is still not a solid 30 in most driving situations, so CD Projekt Red sacrificed the density of the world for no reason.
Here is the game after the 1.23 patch:
Comparatively, here's what the game should look like using a high-end PC on the best settings:
CD Projekt Red didn't admit to changing their game as they did with Cyberpunk 2077, and this is telling. Regardless if they did, this would be totally unacceptable, as instead of giving back to the players, they're cheating them. Delist the game again because it will never be of the quality it should be.
