Crimson Desert Has Been Delayed Indefinitely


Pearl Abyss's open-world adventure, Crimson Desert was due to release later this year.

Following in the footsteps of many games such as Kena: Bridge of Spirits and Rainbow Six: Extraction, the developer has pushed back the launch for Crimson Desert.

Crimson Desert Has Been Delayed Indefinitely

Pearl Abyss has announced that their successor to Black Desert will be pushed back indefinitely.

The reasons for the delay are due to extra polishing and adding new ideas:

We are currently hard at work developing Crimson Desert, which is rapidly evolving with new adventures and exciting experiences. However, we have decided that we need to dedicate more time to adding new ideas for an even deeper, more enriching game.

Pearl Abyss is also looking to protect the health of the team working on the production:

Therefore, in order to create the best possible experience, all the while ensuring the health and safety of everyone involved in delivering the game, we have decided to delay Crimson Desert’s release.

The pandemic has resulted in many delays for high-profile games such as Crimson Desert. Warner Bros pushed back both Hogwarts Legacy and Gotham Knights, while Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and Gran Turismo 7 incurred a similar fate.
