As the Season 1 of Warzone progresses, Sniper Rifles have been in a rough spot as the meta continues to evolve, much to the annoyance of the community. The lack of performance from Vanguard's snipers in Caldera has led to players demanding buffs to the Kar98k, 3-Line Rifle, and Gorenko to make them viable in the current meta.
Reddit user ‘SP4R74N’ listed some of the potential changes that Raven Software can implement to improve the state of sniper rifles in the battle royale. Players have also pointed out that weapons like the Kar98k feel good in Vanguard but are underwhelming in Warzone which is far from ideal.
Warzone Vanguard Sniper Buff
A lot of players pointed out in the Reddit post that weapons that normally feel powerful in Vanguard, are weak in Warzone. The starting reticle on the new sniper rifles is unavailable to Warzone players who do not own Call of Duty: Vanguard, which some may interpret as a pay-to-win mechanic.
The 3-Line Rifle seems to be the only sniper with decent bullet velocity but the issue of poor aim-down sight speed plagues all Vanguard sniper rifles that are available to use. A user commented “The VG Kar98 hits hella hard on Vanguard, but I tried it in Warzone and I was shooting pellets. Sh*t was horrible.”
But not everyone is unhappy with the state of sniper rifles. People are divided on the Kar98k and many feel that the weapon is often overlooked. While it might not be as good as the Swiss, it is still good enough to make an impact in those long-distance duels.
When Will Raven Software Buff Sniper Rifles?
While some defended the Gorenko Anti-Tank Rifle, the general opinion of the Warzone community is that Vanguard's snipers need some kind of buff in order to be viable options. Currently, we don’t know if Raven Software intends to buff sniper rifles or not. While a part of the community feels they are fine, almost everyone agrees that they are not as good as previous snipers in the game.
