The Warzone metagame is constantly evolving as players continue to look for any kind of advantage to gain over their opponents during a match. Season 4 of the battle royale is no different, and with a wide range of assault rifles to choose from, it can be tricky to determine which one is the very best to use as part of your loadout.
Thanks to regular doses of weapon balancing implemented by Raven Software, the assault rifles in Warzone are relatively balanced with only a few differences in performance separating them from each other. Thankfully, we've spent a bit of time testing the ARs and their attachments to determine the three best rifles to use when dropping into Verdansk and Rebirth Island.
So, which are the best assault rifles to use in Season 4? Find out in this guide!
3) Kilo 141
Despite all the buffs and nerfs made to other assault rifles, the Kilo 141 has stood the test of time as one of the very best Warzone assault rifles to use in Season 4. It continues to feature in the metagame thanks to it being one of the easiest rifles to control in long-distance duels, low recoil levels, and a moderate rate of fire capable of eliminating an opponent in a matter of seconds.
As Warzone progresses through Season 4, it is likely that the Kilo will remain part of the metagame for the foreseeable future thanks to its incredible reliability but in comparison to other ARs, the slightly slower rate of fire means that there are even better options to select.
2) GRAU 5.56
During the Modern Warfare era of Warzone, the GRAU 5.56 dominated the meta until it was nerfed into oblivion by Infinity Ward but it has still remained a popular assault rifle of choice that players regularly use in order to secure a ride on the victory helicopter. With a variety of builds to suit all styles of play, this assault rifle continues to feature on loadouts even if there are more attractive options on the table.
Armed with a solid rate of fire, impressive levels of mobility, and non-existent levels of recoil, it's understandable to see why the GRAU is maintaining its place near the very top of a meta that seems to change on a weekly basis.

1) CR-56 AMAX
Coming in at the top of our list is the CR-56 AMAX, another weapon that has been hit with its fair share of nerfs but continues to lead the pack as the best Warzone assault rifle to use in a loadout. Like many ARs, the AMAX comes with a solid fire rate but what sets it apart from the rest is its immense damage output, making it lethal in almost any situation imaginable.
The high damage combined with the steady fire rate and low levels of recoil saw it skyrocket in popularity during Season 3 of Warzone and with Season 4 underway, its popularity shows no signs of slowing down despite Raven Software keeping a close eye on its overall performance.
