Activision Announces Call of Duty World Series of Warzone Tournaments

Activision announced a brand-new Call of Duty Warzone tournament: Call of Duty World Series of Warzone.

It’s a set of four competitions separated into duos and trios, each with a $300,000 prize pool, and the first takes place starting June 22, 2021.

50 squads will face off for six matches in a custom lobby, where points earned through kills and squad placement help decide how much of the $200,000 prize pool they’re eligible for.

There’s a separate, related event called Captain’s Cup featuring “some of the biggest names in Call of Duty esports” with a prize pool of $100,000.

Activision will select captains based on their “previous ties” to the franchise, and the captains will then form trio squads to earn their share of the Captain’s Cup, $20,000 to the winning captain and $1,000 for each member of the winning captain’s team.

All 12 Call of Duty League teams have the option to invite a squad of their own, and Activision will invite a handful of participants directly.

Those who want to be considered for invitation from Activision or from Captain’s Cup captains can take part in World Series of Warzone qualifying rounds on GameBattles.
