Call of Duty: Modern Warfare: Activision Files Subpoena To Hunt Down Reddit Warzone Leaker

The recent Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season 2 update brought with it the return of Rust, some new guns and a familiar face in the form of Ghost (and took up a whopping 60GB of space on our PlayStation’s to do so.) However, the hotly anticipated battle royale game mode, Warzone still remains elusive.

Recently, Reddit user Assyrian2410 gave us something to cling to whilst we waited, in the form of potential cover art for the battle royale game mode.

The artwork featured operators (including Ghost) standing on top of a burning helicopter, with the title ‘Call of Duty: Warzone’ hanging above them.

Within the first hour, Activision had the post taken down, as well as multiple Twitter posts sharing the picture.

The Call of Duty series publisher reportedly submitted a filing on February 14th in California’s Northern District Court.

The Digital Millennium Copyright Act subpoena was filed against Reddit, where the image was originally posted.

Activision is essentially asking Reddit for more information on the leaker so they can take legal action against them.

Hopefully, this doesn’t hold all of their attention, as we’re still waiting for the battle royale game mode!
