How To Unlock The Ratt
The Ratt will be one of the pistols that are available to use when Vanguard launches, meaning the process of unlocking the handgun is incredibly straightforward. If Sledgehammer Games hasn't changed the unlock level from the beta, the Ratt will be available to use from Level 14.
The Best Ratt Attachments in Vanguard
With so many different ways to adapt the Ratt to excel at close-quarters and longer distances, determining the best set of attachments to make an impact in all situations was tricky but after a few matches, we settled on this particular build to achieve the perfect balance.
- Muzzle: M9 Flash Hider
- Trigger Action: Lightweight Trigger
- Ammo Type: Subsonic
- Rear Grip: Rubber Grip
- Proficiency: Sleight of Hand
This attachment combination is all about balance and improving the versatility of the Ratt. The Flash Hider keeps the gunfire hidden from the minimap alongside the Subsonic Ammo Type while the Lightweight Trigger makes it very easy to take down an opponent in the blink of an eye.
The small magazine will mean you will be reloading on a regular basis but thanks to Sleight of Hand, speeds are drastically improved meaning you can quickly follow up with more eliminations.
The Best Ratt Loadout in Vanguard
Once the best attachments are ready for battle, focus can turn towards the rest of the loadout. Selecting a strong primary weapon to deal further damage at longer distances is essential alongside the best Perks, grenades, and Field Upgrades.
Primary Weapon
- STG 44

Perks
- Perk 1: Survival Training
- Perk 2: Tracker
- Perk 3: Double Time
This combination is hugely effective in all situations. Survival Training maximises resistance to any enemy tactical equipment, which grants immunity to the blinding flash of a stun grenade. Tracker highlights any nearby footprints left by the opposition, enabling you to track them down and eliminate them with the Ratt.
Lastly is Double Time. With a huge increase in Tactical Sprint length and crouch movement speed, traversing the map quickly becomes a straightforward process.
Equipment
- Lethal: MK2 Frag Grenade
- Tactical: Stim
The Frag Grenade is the best piece of lethal equipment to deal some additional damage onto the enemy while Stim is the perfect tool that will keep you in amongst the action for a longer period of time.
Field Upgrade
- Dead Silence
To make the most of the Ratt, Dead Silence is a key part of the loadout. With suppressed footsteps, the opposition doesn't stand a chance when you get behind them and eliminate them with a few well-placed bullets.
