In recent years, the idea of playing the same game regardless of the platform has skyrocketed in popularity with many triple-A franchises adopting the feature to unite their communities. Although there's still a while until Modern Warfare 2 launches, many are beginning to wonder if Modern Warfare 2 crossplay will feature in Infinity Ward's latest title.

So far, the developer has shared information on the single-player campaign alongside details on an all-new AI that will create add deeper immersion to various areas of the game including multiplayer.

Crossplay in Call of Duty made its debut in 2019's Modern Warfare and continues to feature in order to enable players to play with or against each other whether they're on PC, Xbox, or PlayStation. So, will Modern Warfare 2 feature crossplay? Here's everything we know.

Modern Warfare 2 Crossplay

Despite a lack of confirmation from Activision and Infinity Ward, a Forbes report confirms crossplay will feature in Modern Warfare 2 following a media day at Infinity Ward's Los Angeles studio.

Considering crossplay has featured in the last three Call of Duty titles, removing it would mark a backward step for the franchise. It's no surprise to see the feature make a return after the hugely positive reception it received when it first arrived in 2019.

With crossplay returning, there's not long to go until Task Force 141 returns once again. Modern Warfare 2 launches on October 28, 2022 and you can play with your friends regardless of whether they own a PC or an Xbox.
