Season 3 of Black Ops Cold War and Warzone brings in the Ballistic Knife - a new yet familiar melee weapon capable of dealing plenty of damage in close-quarters combat and from a distance.

With the Season 3 Reloaded update now going live, players can finally unlock it in all 3 standalone modes - including Warzone.

In order to unlock it, players must complete two challenges to be able to use it in Zombies, multiplayer, and Warzone. The requirements to the challenges is are some of the most difficult and time-consuming ones to complete, but we've found some ways that will speed up the process.

Black Ops Cold War

To get your hands on the Ballistic Knife in Cold War, you must score a One Shot, One Kill medal and a Melee kill in the same life in a total of 15 different matches.

Considering how fast-paced most multiplayer matches are, it is extremely difficult to score both medals in the same life quickly, but there is a certain playlist that will help speed up the process.

Jump into the Hardcore Yamantau 24/7 playlist to get up close and personal with the opposition inside the mysterious Soviet facility.

The map features several corners that can be hidden in to surprise an opponent with a melee kill and a more open area where a one-shot kill can be very straightforward to score.

Here's the class we recommend using:

If you're doing it in core, you can play the Yamantau 24/7 playlist or try in Face-Off as the maps quite big and it's only 3v3. Meaning you can worm your way around easily for knife kills (not to mention the games are much shorter).

If you want to speed up games, you can swap out your sniper class for a real sweaty one and go try-hard mode to end the game faster!

With the Ballistic Knife now available in Warzone, you may want to try and unlock it for yourself.

The fastest way to unlock the Ballistic Knife in Warzone won't be as straightforward as it is in multiplayer, but you will be able to take advantage of the limited-time modes to complete the challenge as fast as possible.

Plunder, King Slayer and Resurgence game modes all feature a respawn mechanism rather than a Gulag, meaning you can drop into the action as many times as possible before the game ends or the timer runs out.

It's going to be tough to do here, so whenever you see the King Slayer LTM pop up, jump in and get it done.

These are the best playlists to play to guarantee a One Shot, One Kill medal and a melee kill.

Zombies

The challenge to unlock the Ballistic Knife in Zombies differs greatly from Warzone and multiplayer's challenge.

You must kill a total of 300 enemies while using a Special or Melee weapon that is either Epic or Legendary quality.

The fastest way to complete the challenge is by starting a Die Maschine match and equipping the E-Tool. Use the melee weapon to earn Salvage and eliminate the undead with just a few hits. Once you've earned enough Salvage, upgrade the E-Tool to Epic or Legendary quality and head to the Med Bay.

Climb on top of the silo near the stairs and whack the Zombies until you've killed 300. Once done, the Ballistic Knife will be available to use!

You may need to Pack-A-Punch your melee weapon too in order to continue your melee massacre! It goes without saying that you can use other melee weapons as well, but the E-Tool is definitely the best.
