After weeks of teasers and leaks, Season 3 for Black Ops Cold War has finally arrived across all platforms. The start of the new season has bought a wealth of brand-new content to the game, including new Operators, multiplayer maps, and a wide range of new weaponry.

One of the new weapons arriving is the Ballistic Knife, a melee weapon capable of firing its blade at blistering speeds to take down a target from a distance.

Despite the new season not going live for another few hours, players have managed to find a crafty workaround that enables them to use the new weapon prior to its official release.

How To Get The Ballistic Knife Early

The process of getting the chance to use the knife before the new season gets underway is surprisingly easy.

To access the Ballistic Knife, load into Custom Games on Cold War and change the mode to Sticks and Stones.

Start the game and you will be able to use the Ballistic Knife before the season begins on April 22nd!

Is It Good?

In my opinion, the Ballistic Knife falls into the same category as the R1 Shadowhunter crossbow.

It is a very useful weapon to take down an unsuspecting opponent from behind thanks to its lethal one-shot kill potential, but it isn't exactly the most versatile of weapons in the Cold War arsenal.

It's a lot of fun to use if you're after some style points when securing a kill but if you want to be playing at the top of your game, it's probably best to substitute it with something armed with a bit more firepower.
