The Best Cold War CARV.2 Loadout To Use

Season 6 of Black Ops Cold War is well underway and as part of the latest season of post-launch content, a brand-new tactical rifle has been added to the ever-expanding arsenal of weaponry on offer.

Like other weapons in the category, the CARV.2 features a burst firing mechanic alongside the ability to control its moderate levels of recoil, making it a solid weapon of choice for mid-range and long-distance duels from one end of the map to the other.

With a variety of attachment combinations to choose from, it can often be tricky to find the very best selection to make an impact on the battlefield.

So, what are the best attachments to use on the CARV.2, and what is the best loadout?

CARV.2 Tactical Rifle

The CARV.2 heavily resembles the G11 assault rifle that appeared in the very first Black Ops title. Just like the classic AR, the CARV features a consistent rate of fire alongside a large magazine which comes as standard, minimizing the need for reloading and allowing players to spend more time in the thick of the action.

Like most tactical rifles in Cold War, mobility is often an issue that sometimes leaves players vulnerable to aggressive submachine gunners looking to get up close and personal to score some quick eliminations.

CARV.2 Cold War Best Attachments

After a bit of testing, here are the best attachments to use:

  • 20.8" Strike Team (Barrel)
  • Patrol Grip (Underbarrel)
  • Visiontech 2x (Optic)
  • Raider Pad (Stock)
  • Serpent Wrap (Handle)

This particular combination of attachments provides increases in damage and the rate of fire, allowing players to lay down an unrelenting wave of fire onto the opposition.

The CARV.2 doesn't necessarily feel overpowered but against other mid-range weaponry, the rifle certainly excels, requiring just a few bursts to secure an elimination.

CARV.2 Cold War Loadout

Secondary - AK-74u

  • Muzzle Brake 5.45 (Muzzle)
  • 9.3" Extended (Barrel)
  • Spetsnaz Speedgrip (Underbarrel)
  • GRU Elastic Wrap (Handle)
  • KGB Skeletal Stock (Stock)

Although the fire rate of the CARV.2 isn't slow, it can be very easy to be outgunned by a fully automatic weapon at closer distances which is why we have selected the AK-74u as our secondary weapon.

The deadly rate of fire and damage makes it the perfect weapon to fall back on if any opponents try to flood your location during a match.

Perks

  • Flak Jacket
  • Assassin
  • Ninja

Flak Jacket provides increased resistance to explosives while Assassin provides score bonuses when you eliminate a player that is on a killstreak, enabling you to score the streaks that require a lot of points much faster than normal.

The third and final Perk we went for is Ninja. The Perk suppresses your footstep audio, enabling you to navigate the map without the opposition hearing your movements.

Wildcard - Lawbreaker

In order to equip two primary weapons in the same loadout, Lawbreaker is the Wildcard that has to be selected.

For those that want more variety with their Perk choice, the Wildcard also allows you to select multiple Perks from one category, opening up even more customisation opportunities!
