How Many Players Will Battlefield 2042 Support?

We’ve learned a lot about Battlefield 2042 in recent weeks, with the various gameplay leaks showing us how the game will play and weapon lists making their way online, though gamers always find themselves asking questions like if it will have a free next-gen upgrade or how many players the shooter will support.

How Many Players Will Battlefield 2042 Support?

On PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, Battlefield 2042 will house 128 players, making the shooter really feel like a giant battlefield, pun fully intended.

EA and developer Ripple Effect confirmed that AI bots will take the places of players if certain games don’t fill the required quota, but also promised fans that they won’t even notice the difference.

There’s also talk of cross-play between next-gen consoles and PC but the developers have stated that it’s still being worked on, so we might not see it at launch.

PS4 and Xbox One players might be disappointed to know that Battlefield 2042 will only have 64 players for this generation of consoles, though that’s still a decent enough number.

It’s clear that next-gen consoles are what EA and Ripple Effect are focusing on, so it will be interesting to see if there’s a huge shift in quality, depending on what system Battlefield 2042 is playing on.

Battlefield 2042 will have 128 players for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC, while the PS4 and Xbox One versions will have 64 players when they launch on October 22.
