How Many Players Is Battlefield 2042?

Following EA’s long-awaited Battlefield 2042 reveal and the news that it’s a multiplayer-only game, fans are naturally curious how many players can actually fit in the Battlefield 2042 maps.

The answer isn’t quite so straightforward.

Battlefield 2042’s max player size depends on the platform you’re using.

On PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, Battlefield 2042 maps support up to 128 players and fulfills DICE’s promise of a revised Battlefield.

“Battlefield 2042 is an evolution of the franchise and embraces what our players want - the ultimate Battlefield multiplayer sandbox with intense combat and a ton of incredible, unexpected events,” DICE General Manager Oskar Gabrielson said.

However, it’s a different story for last-gen consoles.

On PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, that max player count drops to 64.

DICE and EA said the maps on last-gen systems will be “amended” but didn’t mention how significantly different the amended versions might be or if it would affect matches in other ways.

We’ll update when we learn more.
