PlayStation users have been welcomed by a Double XP screen upon entering Battlefield 6, but those on Xbox and PC have not.

With no comment from EA, Battlefield Studios, or PlayStation on what the Double XP is for or why Xbox and PC players are excluded, here’s everything we know so far!

Battlefield 6 2XP on PS5 Explained

Battlefield 6 had a nice surprise in store for the PlayStation community yesterday after a Double XP screen appeared on the main menu, but this particular 2XP boost is currently unavailable for players on Xbox and PC. Understandably, this left many fans confused and disappointed.

It’s understood that the Double XP on PS5 is linked with Battlefield 6’s partnership with PlayStation. This wouldn’t be the first time PlayStation users have gained exclusive benefits, with players already receiving free store bundles, a beta skin, and additional tier skips via the Battlefield PRO Battle Pass.

While Battlefield 6’s marketing deal with PlayStation has been confirmed through TV commercials and the aforementioned in-game content, the lack of clarity surrounding the 2XP on this occasion has raised some questions.

Players have no information on how long the event will last or whether it will eventually open up to those on PC and Xbox as well; however, all indications point toward a Double XP weekend. Sony rather quietly announced the 2XP events in October, with PS Plus stating that PlayStation users would get “extended access to Double XP events.”

Considering the Double XP went live on Thursday for PS5, we assume it will become available for everyone else today, Friday, November 7, or over the weekend. This would align with what PS Plus previously said, with the “extended access” involving an extra day or two of Double XP.

Of course, we’re only putting two and two together here, but this seems like the most likely scenario and outcome. While BF6 has welcomed back #FridayNightBattlefield since its launch last month, a Double XP weekend has yet to take place.

Hopefully, it does turn out to be a Double XP weekend for all platforms, rather than a one-off exclusive event for those on PS5. This would provide a great opportunity for players to level up their ranks and weapons as Season 1 continues.

Phase two of Season 1 kicks off in a couple of weeks on November 18, so players will want to make sure they're well-equipped for when the new content arrives.
