Rockstar Ignores Red Dead Redemption 2 60 FPS Next-Gen Update (Again)

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2

The first Red Dead Redemption is coming to Netflix Games, iOS, Android, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 this December 5.

This unexpected port brings new features to the critically acclaimed open-world game, including 60fps gameplay and HDR support. Users who previously owned the game will get to upgrade it for free.

While this may seem like good news for players who’ve been dying to get their hands on John Marston’s story, some fans are left bewildered by yet another instance of Rockstar ignoring any Red Dead Redemption 2 updates.

Arthur Morgan needs more love.

It’s been 7 years since Rockstar Games released Red Dead Redemption 2. Hailed as one of the best open-world games of all time, it was a significant evolution of gaming as a whole, creating a highly detailed Western world to explore. From the horse’s biology, walking animations, and simply strolling through the wild west, it was a game rich with activities, and that’s not even counting its expansive online mode.

Which is why there’s all the more reason for fans to wonder what in the world Rockstar is doing and why they keep running away from what the fans wanted most?

In most of the posts about this Red Dead Redemption announcement, you can almost always find players asking for the 60fps port of Red Dead Redemption 2. It’s been a common demand from the community since the beginning of the current-gen era.

The PlayStation 5 and high-end PCs are more than capable of running a game like Red Dead Redemption 2, but this might be just another case of difficult optimization Rockstar, as the 2018 game is rife with so much activity that their dev-team is scratching their heads about how to make everything smooth. Besides, with Grand Theft Auto VI’s imminent release next year, it is likely that the staff’s priority is for that game instead.

Some fans are not happy.

Some even speculated that this major announcement proves that there are no current-gen plans for Red Dead Redemption 2 anytime soon.

The story of Arthur Morgan remains one of gaming’s best. His realization that his idea of freedom doesn’t align with what the Van Der Linde stands for is a heartbreaking moment in the game’s history. It made a grown man cry.

Unfortunately, players who are still waiting for that elusive 60fps Red Dead Redemption 2 might have to wait for a few more months (or years) until they can replay Arthur Morgan’s adventures in the best way possible.

For now, PC mods and a little bit of patience for 30fps gameplay will have to do.
