- Quick Answer: The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Overwatch is having frame-rate issues, and Blizzard is working on a fix.
Season 2 of Overwatch Reign of Talon is now live, with the new hero Sierra and other additions available to play, like the reworked Antarctic Peninsula map. The shooter also launched a native version for Nintendo Switch 2, which was promised at the start of the year during the Spotlight event.
Before its release, Blizzard stated that the Switch 2 version would feature better graphics, higher fidelity audio, and 60 FPS in both docked and handheld modes. The last part hasn't been true, as users have been reporting frame rate issues with this version since its launch.
Although the difference in quality is noticeable, with characters having better definition, the game hasn't been able to reach the promised 60 FPS.
As revealed in a recent post from their forums, Blizzard is aware of the problems this version is having. "We are aware of an issue with the FPS limit on the Nintendo Switch 2 being lower than intended. We are working on a patch to resolve this issue," the company noted in the post.
It's unclear when this patch will be released, but we expect this to be a priority.
Other noticeable bugs the studio is tracking are missing cosmetics, custom binds not saving in settings, and some abilities being disabled in the Stadium menu. An upcoming patch should tackle all of this.
Apart from the new content, Season 2 made changes to several heroes, integrating some already existing perks into their base kits and giving them brand new perks to replace the old ones.
