Metroid Prime 4 finally has a release date. After years of never-ending wait, the game will be released on both Nintendo Switch 1 & 2 this upcoming December 4.
The release date reveal happened at the September 2025 Nintendo Direct in a rather unceremonious way, as Prime 4 only made a brief appearance at the hour-long event. It was quite the look, though, as we could see Samus riding a bike through a vast explorable space. Little else in the form of gameplay, sadly.
Nintendo is keeping a lot of things under wraps, but we do know that Prime 4 will run spectacularly on Switch 2, managing up to 120FPS on both docked and handheld, or 4K resolution at 60FPS if you prefer.
A neat Samus amiibo was revealed as well, showcasing the bounty hunter riding the bike seen in the trailer. It will be released this upcoming November 6.
Sadly, no news of a Prime 4 Nintendo Direct was shared, meaning the company is likely happy with what they’ve shown of the game already.
