Is Ant-Man coming to Marvel Rivals? NetEase appears to be subtly teasing the iconic hero through the upcoming Pym Test Kitchen event, set to arrive on the Times Square map on December 18.

The Pym Test Kitchen is a small-scale event area that’s teasing something big. Hank Pym just opened his kitchen to the public, giving away free sandwiches with ‘unpredictable’ side effects for our roster of Marvel Rivals heroes. Some turn into towering 20-foot giants, while others transform into miniscule versions of themselves.

Ant-Man has been a long-discussed topic in the Marvel Rivals community. Players love the idea of playing as a character that can change its size in the midst of hectic team fights.

Since the game’s launch back in December 2024, many were expecting to see Ant-Man as part of the main roster. However, introducing a character that can change sizes might have balance concerns. Issues with awkward hitboxes, movement issues, and visuals could disrupt the game if not coded properly.

As of writing, Ant-Man’s arrival has not been confirmed. His data is nowhere to be found in the game files. What makes the Pym Test Kitchen event interesting is how it’s likely teasing Ant-Man’s abilities in the future.

We can only speculate for now, but the most obvious abilities in his kit are going to be Giant-Man and Ant-Man. Maybe Ant-Man’s small stature can give him a movement boost, but incapable of dealing the most damage. Giant-Man, on the other hand, can deal massive damage but at the cost of speed.

In terms of role, we could assume Ant-Man might be on the Duelist side. He can be a disruptive force as a brawler-type character similar to Mr. Fantastic’s Duelist-Vanguard hybrid.

Ant-Man’s Identity in Marvel Rivals

Ant-Man’s identity in Marvel Rivals is a mystery. While Scott Lang is the more popular face, Hank Pym appears to be the more likely candidate. Janet van Dyne’s (or The Wasp) presence in Times Square gives credence to this theory.

Marvel Rivals may be a Marvel product, but some of its characters are loosely based on the comics, thanks to multiple timelines. Scarlet Witch isn’t the Scarlet Witch we know, and Psylocke is a Japanese woman with anime powers. There could be a major twist to the Ant-Man character we all know and love. It’s entirely possible that Ant-Man could come out as a different variant altogether.

Ant-Man in Marvel Rivals is going to be an interesting addition to the roster, but all of this is just mere speculation and not confirmed. NetEase still has enough time to cook up a hero that can change sizes on a whim since Deadpool and Elsa Bloodstone are already confirmed for next season.

For now, Ant-Man’s inclusion in Marvel Rivals is all speculation, so take everything with a grain of salt. Whether The Pym Test Kitchen is a genuine teaser or simply a gimmick event, it sparked curiosity among the community for one of Marvel’s most requested heroes.
