Just before the launch of Marvel Rivals’ Season 5.5 featuring Rogue, NetEase just dropped a major trailer for Season 6’s upcoming hero, Deadpool.
Unveiled during this year’s The Game Awards, NetEase just dropped a fourth-wall-breaking cutscene featuring none other than the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool. But what is Deadpool doing in a game like Marvel Rivals? And what is his role?

We have no details about Deadpool’s abilities yet, but we can speculate that he is likely to be a Duelist.
As for his skills and kit, Deadpool can switch between two gameplay modes: Range and Melee. He will probably share the same moveset as Blade’s, swapping between sword and gun seamlessly.
Since he is set up as a Duelist, Deadpool needs to be agile. Switching to his dual swords can make him faster, but at the cost of damage. Perhaps the most interesting thing about his kit is his dual pistols. Maybe NetEase could experiment on a “Bullet Time” effect for Deadpool’s ultimate, slowing everything down in an area so he can pop headshots left and right.
As for his complete invulnerability, it is possible he will get a damage reduction ability similar to Blade, Iron Fist, and Daredevil. Maybe something akin to Emma Frost’s Diamond Form with a simple button press.
There is also a major possibility that Deadpool could be a Vanguard or a Strategist. NetEase could always play along with Deadpool’s meta sensibilities. Maybe we’re in for a hilarious surprise.
Who is the Other Marvel Rivals Hero in Season 6?
Another major surprise in the trailer is the second playable hero for Marvel Rivals Season 6: Elsa Bloodstone. Longtime comic book fans already know who she is, but for the uninitiated, she’s essentially a monster hunter inspired by characters like Van Helsing and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Elsa has the same powers and abilities as Deadpool, which is all the more fitting that both characters will appear in Season 6. Their inhuman strength, speed, and regenerative healing factors will be a major part of their kit.
Deadpool and Elsa Bloodstone Release
Deadpool will arrive this January 16, 2026. He will be the first hero launching in Marvel Rivals Season 6, which is aptly named “Night at the Museum.” If we could speculate, this might be a heist battle between him and Elsa Bloodstone.
The monster hunter, Elsa, will likely be available sometime in February 2026.
