A par-tay!

The Marvel Rivals Social Hub is the place to be if you want to relax after a series of losing streaks or to simply hang out with random players online.

NetEase seemed to realize that more players are frequenting its Doom Match game mode just to hang out with random strangers and make friends. After noticing this trend, the developers decided to create a dedicated social hub where they don’t have to worry about a sweaty Black Panther main harassing players who just want to chill.

Times Square will be the game's first non-combat map.

New York’s Times Square will be the main hub for this game mode. Players can notice a handful of Marvel easter eggs in the area, including a Black Cat billboard, Oscorp products, and a handful of announcements relating to the game’s major eSports events.

The Marvel Rivals social hub will support up to 100 players in one area. That means you and your friends can mingle with other Marvel Rivals players, depending on your server, of course.

Marvel Unlimited in the corner.

Aside from chatting to other players and doing the Venom twerk emote on the Times Square Stairs, players can also take part in activities like watching videos and reading books. While NetEase hasn’t explained these features in detail, it seems like we have a select multimedia area where we can watch existing Marvel Rivals cutscenes or read from its selection of comic books.

Players can also watch scenes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Some also noticed that there’s a Marvel Unlimited store in the corner, hinting that maybe we could read comics straight from the Marvel Comics shelves. It might not be everything, but maybe they’re offering a free selection of comics for us to read.

This new social hub could possibly change the way people play Marvel Rivals, but it’s also a double-edged sword. As some online servers and hub areas go, it could be a hotbed of toxicity if left unchecked. Still, it’s a welcome addition that will appeal to players who just want to socialize and show off their unlocked cosmetics and emotes.

We might even see a budding RP (Role-Playing) community emerge in the future.

The Marvel Rivals Social Hub arrives this November 14 alongside the launch of the new Strategist, Gambit, in Season 5.
