  • Quick Answer: A security breach at the IGRS classification board leaked footage for 007: First Light, Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, and Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse ahead of release.

The Indonesian Game Rating System (IGRS) has accidentally leaked gameplay footage of several unreleased games, including 007: First Light.

It's not uncommon for video game studios to send out footage of their game to global classification boards. It's standard practice, as it helps rate their games. This is important for all games, but especially for those that include profanity, gambling, nudity, and/or violence. However, the footage sent is usually kept under wraps.

Except this time, where hours of gameplay footage of highly anticipated games, like 007: First Light, are now floating around online.

007: First Light and Other Unreleased Games Leaked in IGRS Blunder

It was recently discovered that a security flaw with the IGRS has caused several gameplay footage of unreleased games to leak online.

This includes tons of footage of IO Interactive's upcoming game 007: First Light. What's worse is that the ending of the game is among the leaked footage, which means anyone who wants to can find out what happens in the game without playing it (or at least waiting for official gameplay footage).

007: First Light is scheduled to release on May 27 on PC, PS5, and Xbox. The game is also geared for a Nintendo Switch 2 release at a later date. The story focuses on a 26-year-old Bond played by Patrick Gibson. Inexperienced and new to the Bond life, he takes on an M16 Mission. If successful, he will be given the 00 status.

With the game release so close yet so far, the people at IO Interactive are likely not happy that the ending of an origin story Bond game has been leaked.

It's not just 007: First Light footage that is spreading online. Another game with footage circulating online is from Bandai Namco's Echoes of Aincrad. Cut-scenes of story moments have already appeared on social media.

Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed: Black Flag and Konami's Castlevania: Belmont's Curse were also part of the leak.
