  • Key Update: Elden Ring is finally coming to the Switch 2, giving Nintendo players a chance to try the award-winning title.
  • Status: Confirmed

  • Quick Answer: Elden Ring will finally arrive in August for the Nintendo Switch 2, having skipped the first hybrid console due to hardware limitations.

Nintendo players will soon have the opportunity to try the Game of the Year winner, Elden Ring. The action RPG was originally launched in February 2022 for the PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4.

The only major platform missing was the Nintendo Switch, and a port was very unlikely at the time due to the hybrid console's hardware limitations.

With the release of the Switch 2, FromSoftware quickly announced a new port for said console titled Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition. This version was originally set to release sometime in 2025. However, the developers opted to delay the launch to 2026 to "allow time for performance adjustments."

Now the extra development time is almost over, with the Tarnished Edition now scheduled to come out on Friday, August 28.

This version will include the base game along with the Shadow of Erdtree expansion, which came out in June 2024. On top of that, the Tarnished Edition will come with The Tarnished Pack DLC, which includes the following brand-new content: two new starting classes, all-new character armour, and customisation options for Torrent.

The DLC can be separately acquired on the other platforms and will go live at the same time as the Switch 2 version.

The game's physical copies are now listed at $80 across the different storefronts, meaning we can expect a $70 price tag for the digital versions. The price for the separate Tarnished Pack DLC on other platforms remains unknown.
